Faux fur accents and Five for Friday

Happy Friday! I'm pattern mixing with herringbone and plaid again, and I added some faux fur accents.

Wow! We have had a cold week with temps in the 20s and 30s. We even had a "weather day" on Wednesday and didn't have to go to work because driving conditions were not good. We Southerners just don't know how to do this, so the smart ones just stay in. It's okay, if you deal with this year after year, go ahead and laugh. For me, the cold has been so welcome. The last two "winters"- if you want to call it that, the temps stayed in the 70s. I was about to purge all sweaters. Now I'm glad I held on to them.

I'm also glad I have this faux fur pom beanie. It's the perfect compliment to my faux fur trimmed boots. I got these boots just before Christmas. I debated about even getting them. We never need winter boots. Well, until now. Never say never. I considered this pair from Target which are fur lined  and oh so comfy but the hubby told me I'd heat to death in them. He's probably right. I decided I'd get more wear out of these boots because I can actually wear them to work on field days.

I have never thought about pairing this blue plaid shirt with grey until this year, but I'm loving all blue and grey combos right now.

Here are five random bits of info for you for Friday:

1.Just before Christmas, my hubby discovered Mr. Bean episodes on Amazon Prime. I have not laughed so much in years!

2. I got a Cuisinart griddler for Christmas from my parents. I was asking for just a griddle plate, but this is so much more. I'm in love with it. It is replacing my George Foreman (sorry George, #notsorry- the plates were worn and food was sticking to the top when I opened it). I made the most perfect almond flour pancakes on this griddle last Saturday.

3. We started Whole30 on Tuesday. For the fourth time since 2013. We eat a 100% gluten free diet, but we  have let so much sugar and non gluten grains back in. I'm hoping cleaning up the diet will clear up some eczema issues I'm having.

4.  I purchased this book to make meal prep faster this go around. So far I've made a couple of the recipes and have liked them. I'm also pulling recipes from the 21 Day Sugar Detox.

5. I'm also listing things on Poshmark again in order to clear out some clutter. I have a burgundy pair of NYDJ listed and a grey pair of Levis jeans. There is nothing wrong with them, they just require rolling or cuffing on me and I got tired of that and replaced them with ankle length jeans in those colors.

Have a great weekend!
