9 to 5 Style - Florals for the office

Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third  Monday of every month Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style!

Jennie and I have welcomed Carrie of A Stylish Fit to this collaboration, so be sure to check out her post too. This month we are styling florals for the office.

Florals can be tricky in an office environment if your office dress code is super conservative. Florals are very feminine and can come across as too girly for the office. Every professional woman in the work place wants to be taken seriously, yet we still want to be feminine and be women. The key to wearing florals in the office is to keep it simple and wear one floral pattern at the time. Pair it with structured, understated pieces. I've chosen a floral scarf as my floral piece for this outfit. It adds a pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit of white and grey, and becomes a statement piece. This is a very lightweight infinity scarf that I found at Belk and can actually wear in our warmer temps. I'm having lots of fun with it this spring, so you will see it again.
