This lace up top came with its own ready made mix of pastels. When I got this shirt, I wanted some blue shoes to go with the blue in it, but I was hesitant because I wanted to make sure I would wear the shoes with more than just this shirt. (I've been a little shoe crazy lately- I've bought about 6 pairs since just before Memorial Day. In my defense, a couple of pair were to replace worn out wedges and sandals that I definitely wear a lot in the summer.) Anyway, I thought about it and did some searching for an inexpensive pair since this color may just be a fleeting trend this year. I dip cautiously into trends, like I did with this shirt. I had to be able to wear it to work. Most lace up tops don't seem appropriate for my office.

Back to the shoes, I found this pair online at JCPenney. Not quite the shade of blue I was going for, but I still loved them for the price point and heel height. I will be more likely to wear them with shorts at this height. And  they will go with my new Loft dress. ( It has sold out already, but this one or this one would be just as good.) I'm also going to recreate a JCrew look from my closet with them.

It's Friday! Here are my five favorites for this week. (It's all about food).

1. I really love smoothies, especially in the summer. Mine are usually a mix of fruit, almond milk, sometimes almond butter, a scoop of flax meal. Sometimes I add kale or spinach. Lately I've been making them with vanilla Greek yogurt.

2. My favorite blender for making smoothies is Oster personal blender with travel bottle. Make it and go if you need to.

3. I use reusable straws. To get them clean, I love my bottle brush set with a straw brush.

4. Since we went gluten free/paleo four years ago, my favorite meal is a bunless burger in a bed of lettuce with tomato and avocado.

5. My favorite ketchup for that bunless burger is Tessemae's. You won't believe how clean this is compared to other ketchup. Worth every extra penny.

Happy Friday!
