Show some shoulder- Saturday shopping

It's time to show some shoulder! The temps are heating up and I find this to be a trend that most women can wear in some form. It is possible to show a little skin and still be modest.
I'm personally a fan of cold shoulder over off shoulder tops, because the off shoulder ones don't tend to stay in place on me. I did hear from an Instagram contact this morning that this off shoulder top stays in place. Either way, I've rounded up a collection of both for your Saturday shopping.

Friday Favorites and a floral bomber

I hesitated to buy a floral bomber because it gets so hot here so quickly and I couldn't see myself getting much wear out of a jacket. However, I recently stumbled across this one at Ross for $10 and talked myself into it. Restaurants are usually chilly in the evenings, right? I've worn this one twice now, as pictured here and similarly another time. You may have caught the second look on instagram.

I also love a good flat slide on sandal for when I just want to slide my feet in and go. Flip flops are not fashionable foot wear, and I find slide on sandals meet the purpose of a flip flop and look much better. I have these from Old Navy and noticed they are back this year.

Spring bomber jackets- Saturday shopping

One item that seems pretty popular every spring is the bomber jacket. I don't own one but think they could be fun if only they were a little more practical for me. I couldn't wear it to work and our temps get pretty warm pretty quickly, so I really don't have a need for spring jackets. If I did, here are my picks. Clearly, I have a thing for the floral ones and the laser cut faux suede one is pretty sweet.

 

 

Weekend sale picks

Doesn't it seem like there is always a sale? Usually there is, but there is an awesome sale at JCrew Factory this weekend, 50% off! Now is a great time to get a long crystal pendant. It's perfect with your work attire and I wear mine all the time.

Spring trend- ruffles

Anyone miss me a couple of days last week? I missed posting a couple of days and I miss having time to reply to comments and interact with you all. Life...just...gets hectic.

 

We are having the chilliest spring ever, or at least that I remember. So here I am in layers and suede booties that I normally would not be sporting this time of year. I'm not complaining though- it's better than sweating. Ruffles are on trend for this spring so I'm glad I've kept this lightly ruffled layered tee (seen before here)  around through my many closet purges. Tees don't see much wear in my wardrobe so I keep pairing down to just a few basic ones, but I like having this one as an option because it's just a step above for when you need something a little more dressy than just a plain tee.

I've tried to make this blouse a work appropriate piece before, but I've decided I like it with jeans better. It dresses them up but still has a casual vibe. And the blouse is too pretty to be hidden behind a blazer. Maybe I could try a cardigan, but I really like it on it's own.

Today we're looking at some of the trends for this spring. Glamour recently outlined Spring's 16 most wearable trends. This list included ruffles and exposed shoulders, all part of the boho trend. This cute floral dress includes both the ruffles and the bare shoulders. I've paired it with some fringe wedges and a tassel bag for a complete boho look. Add a few accessories like the hat, sunglasses and this bracelet and you are good to go.
