Do you ever feel like you struggle to come up with new outfits? I sure do. And for some reason, Spring always seems to be the biggest challenge. I added a few new pieces last spring, but I feel like I can't possibly come up with new ways to wear them. I did a spring capsule wardrobe last year and found out that a capsule can get really boring. And I still struggled with outfits.  Maybe I'm limiting my choices because I've gained a few pounds this year and I feel like some of my pencil skirts and pants aren't the best fit right now. I don't know. Anyway, this top was one of last year's purchases- seen here just a few days shy of a year ago. I like it with the contrast of grey and the pops of yellow here.

I had the perfect option for these shoes saved for you and they have sold out! I found a couple of other options for you. Oh the woes of fashion blogging, lol. And in other woes, I sometimes have no shade to take photos in at the time I need to take the photos. I guess I should start experimenting with full sun again. It can be done, but I so much prefer shade. So... sometimes you get peeks of the edge of the garage door.

Thanks for entertaining my menial complaints. There is so much more to life.

And just in case you are wondering, this isn't a capsule outfit. It's a Sunday outfit. I break from the capsule for casual and non business dress on the weekends. This outfit was inspired by this one. I made it a spring/summer version.

I will shamelessly admit that I saw this blouse on another blogger and had to have it. I found it on ebay. Lucky me. Of course it has to go in the capsule, because it's new to me and I need to be wearing it since I HAD to HAVE it.

I really do like a combination of black, white and green. What are your favorite color combinations?

I love to wear a lady like outfit on Sunday, and this one does it for me. At least it makes me feel ladylike. I wore this to church on Sunday. I purchased this skirt last year on a whim but it's gotten its share of wear.

Style Swap

                             Mix and Match Fashion              My version

Today I'm linking up with My New Favorite Outfit and Style Swap (details here). I chose to swap out a style from Tara at Mix and Match Fashion.  I had recently pinned this outfit from her blog with my skirt in mind. I don't have any window pane pants but I do have a fushia sweater, black blazer and this skirt. I also liked the pop of blue she added, so I did the same with my bubble necklace. I recently read that bubble necklaces were out, but I've seen a few of my favorite bloggers still wearing them, and as long as I'm comfortable, I will be too. I just couldn't skip the pop of color this adds just because bubble necklaces are "out".

Black and ivory window pane

Sweater-(similar) and skirt- JCPenney
boots- shoes.com similar
necklace/earrings- gift (JCPenney)

I knew when I purchased this skirt in early fall that I could take into cooler weather. All it needed was a sweater and boots.

Are you ready for Christmas? Have you got all your shopping, wrapping, decorating, etc. done? We are about half way there.

Oxblood and windowpane

Blouse- Sears; (similar) blazer- Dress Barn;
skirt- JCPenney (option)
shoes- Belk's
worn Sept 25, 2013

It's the windowpane skirt again (or close enough to windowpane- I don't know what else to call this print). This time I paired it with oxblood. Since it's still warm I went without the jacket the whole day but pictured it with one just in case you wanted to see the outfit with another layer. I think this skirt could be paired with almost any color top and possibly a carefully selected print.

Chartreuse

blouse and skirt- JCPenney;
shoes- Belk
worn August 6, 2013

These are brand new pieces I added to my wardrobe, purchased on sale. I bought them at the same time, but I know I can wear each piece with other items in my closet. The blouse caught my eye because of the dainty chain trim. Embellished tops will be trendy this fall, but this is simple enough to survive past trends. I'm searching for an ivory blouse with black trim to go with  this skirt as well. If you know of a good deal, let me know.
