Cozy fall sale picks- Saturday Shopping

We took a little vacation in the mountains this week. I had visions of snuggling by a fire and drinking coffee while wrapped in a blanket all week. It didn't happen as the temps remained quite warm for the week.  It finally started to feel like fall the very last day, so I still have cozy things on my mind.  Express is having 40% off sale and Loft has sweaters and tops 40% off this weekend. Macy's is also taking 25% off purchases this weekend with code FRESH, so here are my picks from these sales.

Thank goodness it's Friday! It seems like it hasn't slowed down since the weekend before Thanksgiving.

 

Get prepared for an overload of plaid for the next few posts. I've had several casual events lately and plaid is my fall/winter go to. When it's not all that cold, this shirt is a go to because it's a nice cotton vs a flannel. I paired it with this vest that I thrifted a couple of years ago. I know I sound like a broken record, but I love vests, I just struggle to style them. I used a little pinterest inspiration for this. Plaid and suede shouldn't require inspiration. It works so well it ought to be an instant go to, but I overlook the obvious. Here's a pin to reality shot:

I had almost forgotten about this cardigan. It belonged to my mother  years ago, so it's fair to say it's vintage. I used to wear it a good bit about ten years ago, but haven't in a while. It's one of those pieces that I've never considered tossing because it has maintained and still in good shape. When I saw the inspiration photo, I was reminded of it. I needed a good warm outfit to wear Friday, so out came the cardigan. And I said to myself, on look , it's marled... right on trend. LOL

I initially planned to wear this shirt and skirt together with a pair of black heels, but then the weather was cool enough for boots and another layer so I added the vest. I love vests and have way too many thrifted vests in my closet because 'it's a vest" but I could not leave this one- Lauren Ralph Lauren ?! looks like new?! $8?! Had to have it.  Loved the layers of the skirt too, it's a bit more "dressy" than the average denim skirt.
