Power suit with edge

I wear this black suit a lot, but I hesitate to post it on the blog each time. How many times do you need to see the black power suit? It has its benefits- it's conservative, it's easy to throw on and go and almost anything goes with it. I decided to share it this time because I wanted to show you that you can add a little color and edge and still be professional.  I added this spike necklace and snakeskin belt. The blouse adds a pop of color.

Hope your week is going well.

A cardigan over a print blouse+ trousers+ heels has become one of my favorite outfit formulas. It's a little more relaxed than a blazer, but still very office appropriate. This color combination of red, black and white is still one of my favorites too. See how I recently wore this cardigan with other black and white pieces here. And I love how these grey snakeskin heels give a little more contrast and interest than just plain black pumps.

Happy Friday!

Yes,  I did just wear these pants last week. I often repeat work wear pieces like that. Soft grey and camel is a combination I've been seeing a lot of last winter and this year. I had to try it for myself before winter got away. I like it. Oh, and aren't the buttons in the back of the sweater adorable?

Excuse the fake smiles and crappy expressions on my face. I was really tired when I took these photos after work and a storm was coming. Sometimes it's really hard to get motivated to take pics of myself when I really just want to put on pajamas and crawl into bed. Thankfully, tomorrow is Friday.

I tend to get on a color kick and repeat that color over and over for a while. The week before I wore this I wore cobalt and black. This time I paired cobalt with grey. I also wore this blazer and these pants with stripes and leopard recently. I love how pieces just mix and remix for new outfits.

What have you been repeating lately?

Yesterday I showed you an outfit worn on the same date as this one. I wore the other one out that evening and this outfit to work. I've been trying to spice up work attire without going overboard and have decided that a fun accessory like this pink belt is the trick.  A fun print like snakeskin also helps.

Ruffles and flats

I feel pretty strongly that most dressy outfits, especially ones with fancy ruffles, look better with heels. And some casual outfits look better with flats, booties, or something other than heels. This outfit would have been better with heels, but my poor feet just felt like wearing flats. Sometimes comfort wins out over looks.
