Happy Friday! I'm trying to throw this up quickly so I may have to come back and make some edits. This blouse has been a workhorse in my wardrobe. See how I've worn it 9 other ways here. Polka dots are just so fun. If JCrew Factory ever brings it back, snatch it up. I also still feel intimidated by vests, even though I love them and the look on others. I saw some cute ones in TJMaxx yesterday and almost bought another one. I refrained, at least for yesterday.
I last wore this blouse with all black. This time I mixed it up with a white blazer and striped pumps. I was going to throw a little print in with a leopard pendant necklace, but I could not find my necklace. I've since located it but I had to go with what I could find quickly to get out the door that day.
Do you have those moments where you have planned an outfit in your head and then can't find the pieces?
If you are able to be off work to celebrate today, I hope you enjoy yourself, but let's all remember why we have this day. I'm grateful to those who sacrificed their lives for my freedom.
Have you been shopping the Nordstorm half yearly sale? I've ordered this striped knot tee in two colors. I'll let you know what I think when it gets here. See my under $25 and under $50 picks here.
A great purse or satchel in serenity is an easy way to add a touch of the color of the year to your wardrobe. I couldn't resist pairing this purse against the harder stellar blue and grey in my outfit. And who says you can't wear white in winter? I love this blazer as much for winter as I do summer. I ordered three pair of these pants from Loft during one of their holiday sales. So far I love them, but they are a heavier weight and I won't be able to wear them year round. Sad about that.
Don't forget that Savvy Southern Chic is now on Instagram. I'd love for you to follow me. You'll get a peeks of style, food, and maybe occasionally something crafty. I'd love to get back into scrapbooking this year. Do you have a hobby you've forsaken and would like to get back into this year?
Merry Christmas Eve eve! I'm all kinds of excited that today is my Friday for the week and I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that it's a short day (sometimes we get dismissed a few hours early) or at least that it goes by quickly. I'm looking forward to sleeping in, baking cookies, watching Christmas movies and seeing family over the next couple of days. I know lots of folks are taking blog breaks. I don't know if I'll post or not for the rest of the week, but if I'm not back I wish you the Merriest of Christmases!
Pink, polka dots and pearls- what could be more girly? Lace, tulle- well, it's all a matter of opinion. My girly outfits still have to say I mean business for the office, so here's my version. I think I'd like to have a chunky pearl necklace, but I made do with this super long strand of vintage faux pearls. It belonged to my aunt and was passed to me. She had excellent taste in clothes and jewelry and was a beautiful fiery red head. I believe we would have been the best of friends, but she passed away when I was five. The necklace is long enough to layer three times, so that's what I did.
I wore this outfit on Thanksgiving day. I know, it's almost Christmas, so I'm a little behind with outfits. When I pulled up these pics, I thought about how often I've worn this blouse and how easy it is to dress up or down, so I've made a remix collage of the ways I've worn this blouse in the past. This vest has been just as easy to remix and I'm sad I delayed in purchasing one until this season.
Here are the nine ways to wear a polka dot popover. If you don't like popovers, a button up will work just the same. And if polka dots aren't your thing, then black and white stripes would work too.
I'm trying to give this blog it's on social media presence, so I've started a pinterest account just for it. I'll use this one for beauty and fashion related pins, and keep these separate from the other account which included all things and my old craft blog. I'd love it if you followed Savvy Southern Chic on pinterest.
