I recently purchased this scarf from Poshmark. I needed something with some red to bookend outfits when I wear these red shoes. After exhausting my search at thrift stores and other online and in store retailers, I turned to Poshmark. It's actually something I should do more often.
I guess I could have picked something different for today's post, since I just posted a similar color rain coat on Monday. However, I actually wore this teal color blazer to work back in February.
Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third Monday of every month Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style! This month I chose thePantone Color of the Year Ultra Violetas our theme. I won't say it's my absolute favorite color, as I can take it or leave it, but I thought you might like to see some ways to wear it in your work wear as the color of the year always seems to receive lots of hype.
I like wearing jewel tones in the winter, but have not incorporated them much this season. After seeing some inspiration from Stylin in St. Louise and hi sugarplum, I decided to it was time to bring them back into my winter attire.
Today's work to weekend look is all about a long burgundy cardigan that I originally bought as a weekend piece. I've recently been rethinking it, and I decided it would be a great work piece too.

How did it get to be the third week of January already?! This month Jennie chose boots as our theme. If you work in a super casual office, then you can get away with boots a lot easier than if you work in a conservative environment. For a conservative environment, you need to choose a sleeker boot with a heel, and not too many buckles or hardware. The easiest way to wear boots to the office is with a skirt or dress.
When the holiday season rolls around I like to dress in festive outfits, but a conservative office dress code means I can't go over the top with Christmas sweaters and such. So how do you dress festively for the office? Jennie and I are here to show you how with this month's edition of 9 to 5 Style.

We tend to have our office holiday parties during the day time, usually at lunch. Even though the rest of my day is spent doing normal work things and my attire has to fit work, I still want to look a little festive for the parties.

Wear them together, of course. That's how to wear teal and orange to the office. Choose your orange in a nice rust shade for fall vibes. Pair a rust jacket and teal trousers, and keep the top or tee simple and plain. Add some accessories that tie it all together.
Happy Thanksgiving! It's time to bring on the turkey and pumpkin pie. I hope you have some time off to relax too. Our work always gives us the Friday after, and I'm beyond thankful for that extra day. If you do have to go back to work soon, then maybe this outfit will inspire you to play a little and relax your attire just a bit. I paired polka dots and pinstripes for a playful office look. Some faux pearls keep it polished.

This month we are showing you how to wear leopard print to the office. I love leopard and it's pretty much a neutral. It definitely can be worn to the office when paired with the right pieces.
Red is one of Pantone's Fall 2017 colors. I'll admit I have a love/hate relationship with red. If you look throughmy Poshmark closet, you will see there is a lot of red for sale. I got tired of it. The one thing I did not get tired of was my red trousers. Red trousers are the perfect way to add a pop of color and still have a professional work outfit. For today's five for Friday, I'm sharing five ways to wear red trousers.

Plaid can be a little tricky for a conservative office like mine. Most plaid shirts would be frowned upon at my work, so I have to stick to skirts, pants and shirt dresses in a more traditional subtle pattern.
