How to interject color in the winter

It seems like we are in full on spring now, so I doubt I will be wearing a blanket scarf any more this season. I'm grateful we did have a few cold days during our winter and I got to wear outfits like this one. I  have my Ann Taylor tee/shell underneath, so the scarf is really the heaviest warmest layer. We have to use tricks like this in the south to layer. If I had worn a sweater, it would have been too much. 

It almost seems too late to share this outfit based on the weather we are having now, but maybe some of you are still having cold weather and you are looking to interject some color into the last of your winter wardrobe. A bright pencil skirt and colorful scarf are perfect ways to do that.

Greenery- Saturday Shopping

Pantone's color of the year is greenery, and I'm all for it.  Greenery is more of a yellow- green, but I'm all for any shade of green. Emerald used to be one of my favorite colors. I had a pageant gown in emerald in eighth and ninth grade. Funny thing is, I don't really have a lot of it in my closet at the present time. Hmmm... maybe I should remedy that.

This is an outfit formula I've relied on before- pencil skirt and sweater+ heels.  Since this sweater makes it's own statement, I went with more of a statement heel instead of adding a necklace. I also threw on a couple of other interesting pieces, like the Kendra Scott ring and cuff. The ring was from my last Rocksbox. I hated to send it back but relented and did so. Green pencil skirt= ten ways

Good morning! If we can survive this week, most of us will have a long weekend this weekend and a short week next week! There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Pencil skirts are great for office environments. Don't think you have to stick with black, navy, grey, or khaki. Add some color. Here are ten ways I've worn my green pencil skirt.

A cobalt blazer is a must have. If you are looking for something with a little more interest than a standard navy blazer and still want to fit into a conservation work environment, the cobalt blazer is the perfect option. I have worn this one multiple times and reach for it over and over again. The color has remained popular season to season, and I have a feeling it's going to get paired with olive this fall.  Another fun option for your work attire is a green pencil skirt. You don't have to go all out in color. Pair it with a white button up and more neutral blazer, or leave the blazer off and go with leopard accessories, as shown here.
 
This combination should have been obvious but it took me a while to realize this blouse goes perfectly with the skirt. Oh how I love remixing my closet.

I will shamelessly admit that I saw this blouse on another blogger and had to have it. I found it on ebay. Lucky me. Of course it has to go in the capsule, because it's new to me and I need to be wearing it since I HAD to HAVE it.

It rained all day long. Literally. It was raining when I left for work and still drizzling when I returned. I even took these photos in a slight drizzling rain. But it didn't damper my Irish spirits. I donned my green skirt for work and made it "business like" with a classic white button up and navy blazer. For a little more fun, I added the green statement necklace.
 
It got this necklace as a gift for Christmas but I've had trouble working it into an outfit. I like statement necklaces but I don't think I would have picked this for myself. How would you style it?
