Late summer vacation style

sunnies- Ray-ban

I rarely get out of my pajamas or exercise clothes on weekends or holidays if I don't have to go somewhere. Monday was the exception. I decided to throw this on after my run and shower. No makeup, other than trying out a sample of Urban Decay matte stark naked lipstick I had lying around.

This is an outfit I wear repeatedly on our fall or early summer vacations, but it's never made the blog, so I decided to take some shots and share it. It's comfy but sporty. The hat keeps the sun from baking my head and the shoes are comfy. If you live a cooler climate, you could swap the shorts for joggers or cargo pants. You could pair this with olive pants instead of khaki. I love olive and red. Jewelry is minimal- just a long tassel necklace. I find that long necklaces are more tolerable in the heat vs shorter ones that hang closer to my neck.

What's your go to weekend or vacation outfit?

Weekend bling and Rocksbox

earrings- Kendra Scott or here
bracelet - made by me (available hereoption
lips- Smashbox Disco Rose gloss

I wore this outfit to run errands and get lunch on Saturday. It was a last minute decision on the hubby's part and I didn't have time to wash my hair, so a hat day it was. I really didn't have time to iron either so boyfriend shorts always work when you need something to grab and go.

I just received my first Rocksbox on  Friday. I love the pieces I got but I'll admit that I didn't think I would wear these earrings anytime soon. That's what I get for thinking. The very next day I'm grabbing for them because I thought they worked perfectly with the green and blue in the shirt and the gold in the hat band. Have you heard of Rocksbox? You get three pieces of designer pieces on loan for $19 per month. When you get tired of them, send back your box for three more pieces. Or you can purchase your items at their cost. You get $10 credit for purchase each month as well. Try it out for one month FREE with code FONDABFF. (I'll get a little more credit in my account, and you'll get a free month.)

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. We got some more much needed house cleaning done and celebrated my brother's birthday.

Weekend style

I love that in the summer I get to share a little more with you than just work outfits. It seems like we are going and doing more and have more daylight for pictures, so I get more opportunities to capture the "off duty" looks. Since we are heading into the weekend, this outfit is perfect for today's post.

I wore this outfit while we were away on a Memorial Day weekend trip. It rained the day I wore it so I had to photograph it when we returned home. That's why I'm a little late sharing it.

I don't know if boyfriend shorts are as popular this year as they were the last couple of years, but I still love mine. (They still fit, lol, and are forgiving of a few extra pounds). This shirt is my first ever purchase from Loft, from their clearance rack. I still love it too. These two pieces together make an easy breezy weekend outfit. Don't worry about your hair, throw on a hat and go.

I'm pushing it with these sandals. I suspect one of the elastics on a strap will break any day, but I just haven't found a replacement yet. I'm thinking about going with a gold pair of sandals when I do replace them.

What are your weekend plans? What about your summer weekend style? What do you like to wear?

Undecided

Undecided. That's not a good way to start a new year. Most people are full of decisions, goals,  resolutions, etc, yet here I am starting off by saying I'm undecided. You see, I'm very  undecided about this outfit. The one thing I'm sure of is the new Chelsea boots. I eyed them for a while all over the net and then decided I wanted a pair, so these were part of my Christmas gift from my husband. These are so comfortable. Styling them in a way that looks best on me may be a bit of a challenge.

I love that this outfit is composed of all basics that most everyone should have in their closet- a black skirt, grey tee, and denim jacket. I've seen looks like this on others, to include the skirts with the Chelsea boots, but my first impression upon seeing these photos was that I look a bit like a bag lady. Maybe the skirt isn't the right length. Maybe I'd like the skirt/boots look better with some tights ( but mother nature isn't cooperating for me to wear tights). I just don't know. Sometimes you just can't put your finger on what needs to be tweeked. So... I welcome your comments and suggestions.

I hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

A little boho

necklace- Stella and Dot

Here's the outfit I envisioned when I first wore this blouse. I wore it as business attire here but was picturing it with something a little more "boho".  I think it works either way.

I meant for this to be last Friday's post but it didn't happen. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. I filled my house with smoke last Thursday morning while trying to microwave a sweet potato. I don't really know what happened. After about 10 minutes the thing was completely charred and on fire. The plate it was on cracked in half. I've never had this issue. I made sure to poke holes in the potato so it didn't explode, but still had an absolute mess. There as extra work with cleaning up the house and then I had to leave early Friday morning so there was no time for a post.

Here's to a better week!
