Little red
Blazer- old option
belt-thrifted option
Do you have the song "Little Red Riding Hood" or just thoughts of the children's story stuck in your head now? You know you want to complete that title. Maybe it's distracting you from the woes of returning to work.
I love how this little red pleat front blouse (seen before HERE and HERE) pops with the grey and heathered navy. I also like the cognac brown shoes and belt much better than I would grey, navy or black pumps. If you are getting a little bored with your daily attire, make a little change with color or shoe color.
Have a great week!

Summer work wear
worn July 30, 2015
The easiest way to make your work attire feel like summer is to add a white blazer and or bright colors. I did both with this outfit. I was inspired by this outfit I found on pinterest. I made it more work appropriate for me by replacing jeans with trousers and went with a smaller statement necklace. Notice my belt? Remember I'm trying to change up my belts and not wear the same black or brown belt every day. I had gotten in a rut there. I was happy to find this metallic number along with another belt at the thrift store for $1.07.

Dressing up plaid
necklace- online boutique option
bracelet- Ann Taylor option
worn Dec. 28, 2014
We keep having a couple of winter days mixed with a couple of summer days. This was one of those days right after Christmas with 80 degree highs, so I opted for a comfortable non-flannel plaid with a skirt and statement necklace for church. Love how you can dress plaid up or down.

An easy formula
shoes- TJMaxx option
worn Oct. 2, 2014
An easy formula for getting out the door quickly and still looking polished for work is a sweater+pencil skirt+statement necklace+heels. A nice soft sweater that fits works best for this formula. Save the slouchy, oversized sweaters for the weekend. This lightweight sweater is perfect for our warm fall weather.

Sleeveless and lace
pants - TJMaxx
necklace- Online boutique option
Worn July 23, 2014
Here is another look for the sleeveless blazer that I had to copy. This one I was able to turn into a work appropriate outfit by swapping jeans for trousers. Luckily the top was already in my closet and the vest gave it new life as it has not been worn in a while.

Two pieces- two ways and style swap
It's Friday! Woo hoo! and that means another edition of Style Swap. This week I chose to create my own version of Southern Curls and Pearls polka dot top and sweater outfit. I had previously pinned this with two pieces from my closet in mind. They are not the exact pieces she is wearing but close. My yellow sweater had not seen any love this year, and since we are itching for spring and I love navy and yellow, this was perfect.
I also took these two pieces and made two looks: one for work and one for play.

I don't have any statement earrings but went for the bling in my necklace.
For a more casual look to wear to Wednesday night pot luck, I switched out the suit for jeans and booties. Yes, your work wardrobe can work for casual and weekends too.
