Navy dot top- Work to weekend

I'm featuring a navy polka dot top for work to weekend looks. I used to almost exclusively wear this top for work, but decided to use it for some casual looks in my GYPO Spring Capsule.

Casual fall outfit and 5 ways to prepare for the holidays

I'm sharing a casual fall outfit today that's made up of the must have neutral cardigan we talked about last week and my embroidered jeans (now less than $20). I'm also sharing 5 ways to prepare for the holidays.

Work to Play- One piece two ways

I did a post a while back on how to wear two pieces two ways- work and play.    I decided to do a similar post with these outfits. Both outfits feature the same striped sailor sweater. This sweater works well for work with a pencil skirt and blazer. (I've also worn it HERE with plaid pants and a blazer.)

Casual Friday

Tshirt-  Target option option
shoes- Target option
bracelet- JCPenney option option
necklace- Forever21 option option
worn April 12, 2014

This is actually a casual Saturday outfit. We don't have casual Friday at work, so casual is limited to weekends. I'm posting on Friday and needed a post title, so casual Friday it is.

The only reason I took these pics was because I was debating about whether or not this looked okay and if I should keep or donate this shirt. I have become extremely picky about tshirts. I don't like cheap ones that "roll" around the middle and have no shape to them. I like for them to have a little stretch and still keep their shape. This is a cheap tshirt and it's doing a little "rolling" but overall, I think this worked out. I think accessories are totally what make jeans and a tshirt an "outfit".

Two pieces- two ways and style swap

It's Friday! Woo hoo! and that means another edition of Style Swap.  This week I chose to create my own version of Southern Curls and Pearls polka dot top and sweater outfit. I had previously pinned this with two pieces from my closet in mind. They are not the exact pieces she is wearing but close. My yellow sweater had not seen any love this year, and since we are itching for spring and I love navy and yellow, this was perfect.

Left: Southern Curls and Pearls  Right: My version

I also took these two pieces and made two looks: one for work and one for play.

Blazer/pants- Limited
Top- JCrew Factory similar
sweater- Talbots thrifted similar
shoes- Belks/ Ann Klein
Worn Feb. 12, 2014

I don't have any statement earrings but went for the bling in my necklace.

For a more casual look to wear to Wednesday night pot luck, I switched out the suit for jeans and booties. Yes, your work wardrobe can work for casual and weekends too.

Second time around

Jacket- Old Navy;
shirt- Target
skirt- Old Navy
shoes- Payless
necklace- Groopdealz
worn Oct. 15, 2013

I wore the white denim jacket for the second time. I'm still not sure about wearing it past summer. I paired it with a tshirt and skirt that I've worn together before. My shoes are my comfy vacation shoes. I refuse to wear running shoes or sneakers on vacation but still need to be comfortable for walking. So I have these that are sort of a knock off of skechers. Speaking of vacation, we took a trip last week to Mississippi and I took these photos at the beautiful location we stayed at in Pass Christian.

Leather tote

Top-Loft; jeans- Old Navy;
shoes- Old Navy
tote- Banana Republic

I splurged and bought this tote with my birthday money and some rewards back in July. I love it. I didn't know if I would like a large open tote but I do. I find things much easier in here than a regular purse. Another random thing about this outfit- I've had this shirt for a least a couple of years and have only worn it once; however, I think I'm going to put it into regular rotation.

Perfectly plaid boat shoes

Shirt/shorts- Target;belt- thrifted; shoes- Payless
Worn July 1, 2012

This is probably the most casual outfit I've posted on here. Five days out of the week, I'm dressing for work and for church on Sunday, so that doesn't leave a lot of room for casual. But I do wear casual clothes. And when you're wearing shoes this cute, the rest of the outfit really doesn't matter. These make me smile every time I wear them. I thought they even deserved their own shot!
