Buffalo plaid - three ways

I wore this to our church's Thanksgiving supper last month. One of the girls in our college age Sunday School class said she had on a similar outfit and her brother told her she looked like a lumberjack. I laughed, lovingly smacked him on the shoulder and told them both he knows nothing about fashion. Lumberjack or not, I love this combination of buffalo plaid and herringbone. This combination is all over pinterest so I certainly can't take credit for coming up with. I'm just doing what everyone else is doing.

Here are two more ways I've worn this shirt:

This shirt would also look great layered under a sweater or sweatshirt as I did here and here with a similar plaid shirt.

Buffalo plaid

The last time I wore my red buffalo shirt, I wore a very casual look. This time I dressed it up a bit with a blazer and heels. It was one of those days when I didn't know what I wanted to wear to church. When that happens, I usually find myself in a blazer and pants. I love wearing skirts on Sunday, especially since they are not always practical at work, but sometimes it seems a little easier to put together pants instead of fussing with a skirt.

Buffalo plaid and stripes

I consider a buffalo plaid a must have for fall/winter. It's also a piece that will be a classic and stick around. Those are the reasons I promptly went to Old Navy and purchased myself a brand new plaid shirt this week, (using rewards so I didn't pay much). I received one last Christmas as a gift and wore it a couple of times last winter, but the fit was not quite right. I tried to wear it again last weekend and decided that an ill fitting shirt would not do. The old one will get posted in my Poshmark closet.

This one will get worn regularly if the temps will stay down. After a chilly morning, Tuesday afternoon was 80 degrees, so most of the day this shirt was worn tied around my waist as shown in the last pick.

Do you have a favorite item that you would run out and replace right away?

Are you gearing up for holiday shopping? If you're like me and do a lot of it online, don't forget to sign up at ebates so you get cash back from your shopping. I've made a little over $25 in a short time. That's not huge, but I'll take it. Check them out here.
