Blush and black pinspired

This outfit was inspired by this pin.  I am now a fan of black on black and I could make this a daily outfit. I could seriously repeat this with every color blazer in my closet and it would work. Every. Single. Time.

Work to Weekend: One Piece Three Ways

I'm back again with another Work to Weekend post. This time I'm featuring a blue tunic blouse that until recently I've only worn to work. It's a versatile piece that can transition to other outfits, so lets take a look at three ways to wear it.

A new moto jacket

I'm loving the soft tones of these booties and this jacket against the rich burgundy colors here. I wore this outfit for Thanksgiving day, and the jacket and booties were both like being in pajamas.

Grey and olive

Here's to a short week! I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. Here's to grey and olive too. I love how these two colors work together.

Bell sleeves and boots

Remember the mustard bell sleeve top? I bought two of that top, just in different patterns and colors.

Easy fall outfit and 5 favorite posts of the week

A tee shirt and jeans is always an easy outfit. Take it up a notch for fall by pairing a lace tee with olive jeans and leopard sneakers.

Navy, khaki and cognac

As I end summer and start transitioning to fall, I tend to switch to outfits that are more neutral or non-seasonal. A combo of navy, khaki, and cognac makes for one of those outfits.

Cardigan- Loft  option  option
skirt- JCP
shoes- Payless  option  option
earrings- Nordstrom (sold out) option
necklace- Kendra Scott

I usually pick out my outfit for work the night before. Sometimes, however, I just don't have time, or I am just too tired. This was one of those nights and mornings. I didn't pick out anything and was running short on time for ironing, so I took a quick look around the closet and came out with this. Thanks to Classy Yet Trendy's ebooks, this was pretty much a no brainer. The cardigan was worn during the spring for many of my outfits that I put together from the Workwear Capsule Wardrobe: Spring 2017.  I definitely recommend checking out the ebooks for fall- Essential capsule, French minimalist, and work wear, even if you don't follow them to the letter as a capsule. So in a pinch, grab a cardigan, top, and pencil skirt. Add some accessories. Done.

SO... I've been displaced for four days now due to Irma. I think our property has fared okay, just more fences and trees down. Not sure about the inside- we took in water during Matthew last year in a couple of rooms through the windows. We took extra precautions this year, so we will see, when we are finally allowed back. I'm on four days with my in-laws who have never been my favorite people. I'm gracious for a safe place to be, but really? what happened to disciplining children and pets? We have our dog and she minds well. No she is not comfortable with her situation, but she will quieten down when we tell her to. I've had to listen to another dog bark in the house with us for nearly 24 hours and her owner refused to even say anything to her "because it won't do any good". ???? "The dog is just in a strange place and we will have to get used to it." What? I'm in a strange place too. Can't wait to go back to peace and quite even if it's wet.

Pinstripes and florals

I have not worn this pinstripe suit in a long time. It had gotten a little boring to me and the red dots on the cuffs always throw me off about styling it.

Gifts for Mom- Saturday Shopping

Since Mother's Day is next weekend, I thought I'd round up some picks for Mom. Most of them are pretty classic gift ideas, but I know my mother would not splurge for most of these for herself.

Gifts for Mom

Lauren Ralph Lauren Mona Silk Scarf • Lauren Ralph Lauren • $45
MARC JACOBS 3-Pc. Daisy Rollerball Coffret Gift Set • Marc Jacobs • $45
Michael Kors Women's Chronograph Parker Blush and Rose Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch 39mm MK5896 • Michael Kors • $221.25
Women's Kendra Scott 'Elle' Drop Earrings • Kendra Scott • $55–65

Isotoner Micro-Terry Satin Slide Slipper • $17.99

I love Alex and Ani bracelets and recommend them for older moms because there is no fussy clasp to deal with. Kendra Scott necklaces make a great classic gift too.

Happy Shopping!
