I've done a couple of other posts on what to wear with brown pants (HERE and HERE). Brown can be tricky, but yet it can be as easy to create outfits with as black. Besides purple, navy and soft blue, brown pairs nicely with pink. I've worn hot pink with brown before and with leopard before.  The camel sweater (or any other neutral) helps ground the two.
